just a quick one feedback appreciated please
Me and my husband ( and family ) are thinking about turning the granny flat part of our new house into a sort of relocation rental ( in Helensvale) but befire we do that we would like to know if anyone would use it or think it may be used?
it will not have kitchen facilites as such but a sink and kettle microwave etc but just be used as a base, there will be an outside area, seperate access and the use of our pool, does anyone think it will be of any use?? any feedback greatly appreciated:confused: |

I presume your place has bedrooms and a bathroom too!!! Only difference is our stay was rent free!!!! A bit may depend on how many can stay there and how much you are going to charge for it?? C x |

They might have some useful suggestions. Also, check with your council what facilities you can put in there without breaking laws... kitchenette, but not full kitchen is usually the norm for a studio rental... prob be fine but wise to check. |

Re: just a quick one feedback appreciated please
Is there a toilet ?
Or was that what you meant by using your pool :p |
Re: just a quick one feedback appreciated please
Sounds just the sort of thing we want to start when we arrive in Oz, would be good if it had payphone, internet access etc, never mind the kitchen, but a small sink and basic facilities would be good, can you fit a sink? does it have a bathroom? would be good for touch down cheap temp accomodation

Real Estate agents will probably dob you in, so if it were me I would keep it fairly low-key. I'm sure there are people on this forum who would love to find somewhere to stay for a few weeks or so until they can find somewhere more permanent, and I'm equally certain that there's about a million prospective tenants attending the Bond Uni who would jump at the chance and who wouldn't mind living ontake-away. |
Re: just a quick one feedback appreciated please
Good points made.
A fridge and microwave would be fine for a couple of weeks. It would be nice to eat out in the first few weeks while all the stress of searching for a rental etc is going on  |
Re: just a quick one feedback appreciated please
That has been really helpful and i am pretty sure that we can look at putting fridge microwave etc in there. The bathroom facilities aer in the main house but there is adoor that can be used to access that for the tenants so again it should not be a problem. i will keep you all informed on what happens though so bear us in mind:thumbup:

Re: just a quick one feedback appreciated please
I would urge you to check the legalities. Both with council, mortgage, insurance etc etc etc.
Im sure this would be classed, as business use, and therefore would need reclassification under council for your property. Anytime, you do something and charge money for it, is classed as providing a service, and as such will require certain red tape to be lifted, honoured or sorted. Good Luck Ste |
