just been to my dad's...
...went through some boxes full of fotos, diaries, the odd stuff you collect like tickets, my first watch, just things that make you remember what you've lived through (ok, getting a bit melodramatic there )
I cant leave all that stuff behind, but dont see how I can persuade hubby to get it all into our move box - or whatever they call it.
Felling a bit empty - is my life really just full of waste? Or is it simply not worth taking?? Do I really want to give it all up???
Think I'll have to hop onto the tampon thread to cheer me up

The smallest of things can bring comfort in an emotional situation and if your bits and pieces that you have come across today, make you feel better then you must take them.
See if you can narrow it down to a small(ish) box at least and take what you value the most.
Valuable? probably not but priceless? definitely.
Get on to the tampon thread, the boys are having a Tammy fight as we speak.

Re: just been to my dad's...
I have to keep my selection of bears.
I have a handmade cat I have had since I was 8, a doll that looks like Bride of Chuky as I poked her eyes out and cut her hair, Ive had her since I was 3, plus a fine selection of bears including a small white one my Mum bought me for my birthday last year - my last ever present from her.
My memory box will be very big indeed and that is including being quite ruthless with other stuff.

Thanks ladies, its good to to know others feel the same. I wonder why simply knowing this makes you feel better
My memory box will have a large poodle, whose legs have each been ripped off and put back on, my doll Susi, who my mum decapitated on a holliday trip to give my more space in the car , the watch, heaps of fotos and the paper umbrella which as in my very first coctail
...as well as much much more...

My doll is called 'Suzie'!
I will have my selection of cats that I have collected from around the world, although the wooden ones will have to be treated no doubt.
My china greyhound my friend bought me 23 years ago, and don't laugh - I have never had a Barbie Doll in my life.
So 2 weeks ago when we flew to Cyprus, my sister bought me one and we took pics of her when we were a bit tipsy (I know, funny at the time ) So Barbie had a holiday to and is now sat on top of my computer tower looking glam after her holiday abroad.
As my sister bought it for me, she is coming as well.
Oh god, Ive got shit loads to come with me, not to mention my books.
My sister also bought me my trashy airport novel 'Jilly Cooper - Wicked' which is a fat book and Im still reading it.
We are taking stuff in tea cartons and not doing the whole crate thing as we will buy new stuff out there.
Here is Barbie in Paphos - post piss up of course.
Come on, post your pics of Susie!

Re: just been to my dad's...
On our first night, my sister was pissed and had her camcorder.
'What are you doing?' I asked her as she swayed around trying to focus.
'Im filming Barbie' she snapped, quite impatient that I didnt realise.
'That is SO silly' I laughed, a little bit tipsy myself (dont normally drink these days, so one glass and im pissed)
Well when I checked my mobile phone the next day, I too, had photographed barbie with both my camera and my mobile.
Shes human you know.
Shall I buy some more clothes for her?
Everyone should have a toy to bring out the child within.
