Which casino? which coast? Do you mean Conrad Jupiters at Broadbeach on the GC? (not being difficult, they are a chain and might be elsewhere) I have heard from various people that it's not the greatest place to stay but I don't know what the problems where or if it just wasn't what they expected. The casino and bars are incredibly noisy and busy on Fridays and Saturdays. The new show is supposed to be brilliant.

It's quite nice to stay, once you get in. We stayed 12 months ago and bkd a package with 11am checkin. At 2.30 had a lovely discussion with the Manager who couldnt understand why we were unhappy that we hadn't been able to check in yet. I calmly explained that when I have holidays I have two things - time and money, and you just took 3.5 hours of my time. Once we got in (upgraded) and had a few (free drinks) we felt relaxed and the rest of the stay was fine. Only problem after that was dinner on the last night in the Asian restaurant, when we waited over 40 minutes for an entree.

Being I work in the hotel industry I have very high standards myself so I find it very difficult to stay at hotels where the staff dont seem to care about the guest experience. I'm probably more fussy than others

This is the Gold Coast and everythings slower. It can drive me nuts sometimes, like eating out,but then i think how its a much more relaxed lifestyle than i was used to in the UK and we love it here!

Ive never stayed but have eaten in the Casino and it was very nice,we go there every few weeks and the bars are fine and the occasional flutter adds to a good night.
You should look to stay in the center of Broadbeach if the casino is overpriced, its a loveley area and only 5 mins walk to the Casino. The restraunts in Broadbeach are also very good and theres a few bars as well, its a quieter but upmarket version of Surfers.
