Awww. He did so much for charity, as well as being eccentric and entertaining.

Ahh the miracles of modern technology, I found out last night about 1am when a text message came in saying "Question: Whats 6" long & won't get sucked tonight? Answer: Jimmy Saville's Cigar!" Not even an hour after they announced it FFS:( made me chortle though;)

never liked him as an entertainer.... But I'm sure he was a nice person and had many friends and some family who will miss him as a person....

i was one of those kids who would write a letter, then never send it in... I was a Cycnical kid.... And knew it was pointless....And my dreams involved slightly more than the superficial stuff he fixed..... never wanted to meet anyone famous or do anything unusual.....

And I was too busy working towards my dreams anyway.... Why ask him to fix it for me to own a horse for the day when I could get on my bike, cycle 7 miles and spend all day mucking out, feeding, grooming... At our local riding school.... For nowt... Not even a free ride.... To proove to my parents I was capeable and dedicated enough to look after my own horse....

when my parents DID eventually fulfil my dream it was still a 5 mile cycle ride morning and evening every day to look after it at livery until we moved to a house with land and stables... That was my dream.... Walk out the back door to the stable block... YAY!!!! Jim had nowt to do with that.....
