Can't see it catching on though, until they find a way where you don't need to wear the glasses.

I didn't know that! Surely you'd be sending the sound out via a home cinema system and it would be at least DD5.1?

Also, yes the glasses are a bit inconvenient but the resulting picture is gobsmaking! I'm more worried about my brain decoding 3D after a few beers :p

Holographic TV is promised by Sony for the year 2020 and in fact the Japanese are proposing to broadcast the 2022 world cup with holographic Technology.

Personally I cannot wait for this.

That will be cool, in the meantime if you haven't seen 3D yet its worth a look. Next time you're at the local Binglee, Goodguys, H Norman etc, a few hours later I'm still pretty amazed. I can only liken it to a 3D Imax movie, smaller screen of course.

It's shit, makes me feel drunk like looking at a magic eye picture or someones glasses. Long way to go yet apart from wearing the 3D glasses like at the cinema

It was way better than I'd expected. But will the content appear?

That's the golden question, but foxtel seem to be behind it, the wonens tennis is on on 3d tonight and I'm reading SBS are showing some world cup games in 3D.

Sky in the UK are doing premiership footy in 3D, I've decided to wait until the Panasonic 50VT20 is available before buying my next TV.

After what I saw today I'll wear the spec's for the odd sporting event, I saw a replay of SoO in 3D and it was

Re: I've seen the future - 3DTV

On reflection for me 3D wasn't like the difference between HD vs SD (actually this was disappointing as my Kuro does SD very well) or even DVD vs VHS.

For me, 3D vs 2D was more like Color vs B&W (and I'm just old enough to remember).

I know how stupid this sounds, but take a look yourself before dismissing...

As for the content, its all about sport and the latest movies really, and I'll wait.
