I'm going to have to get to grips with this BBQ malarkey though, I think the only veg I have ever cooked on a barbie is peppers and onions, so I need to step it up!

Yeah we have a mate who does that too, he comes home from work and cooks tea on the barbie for the kids ( his wife's died) she used to cook in the kitchen by the way, anyway the kids like it, that's the main thing I suppose.

Mmm, I love Thai food, looking forward to experimenting with that, also my husband loves seafood, so I'm sure he'll relish in all the fresh produce should we end up on the coast.

70 % of the seafood here is imported....you could just as easily eat it in the Uk if you wanted to

I live on the coast, well most of us do as the cities are mainly on the coast. Don't see any difference in seafood (I also am a big fan) versus UK. I find the choice of meat and poultry a bit limiting here. There is no reason why anyone could experiment with cooking here any more than in UK.

WOW really? Now that has surprised me.
Yeah we could get it in England, but we don't. I don't like it for a start, so I don't shop for it, my husband never asks me to cook it for him (probably because he knows he would end up with food poisoning )but he has it when we go out for a meal and I think he will buy it in Australia to put on his man- barbie, then if he ends up with food poisoning at least he won't be able to blame me.
By the way, are you moving back to the UK?

We still have a weekly roast but love it done on the rotisery outside. And we eat more locally produced food especially fruit. We also eat a lot more yummy Asian foods.

I'll be working from home in Australia, plus my husband will be around to help out more. So I'm looking forward to trying new foods and new ways of cooking it.

I have found some sources for good-sized steak - whether Filet Mignon or Ribeye -Costco wins for me now hands down for shear convenience. They also have pork belly strips...

I get my meat delivered from an organic farm which is about three miles from where I live,it's bloody lovely. I get eggs from the farm across the road and in summer in the next village they hold a farmers market every Sunday and I get my veg, cheese etc from there.....now that's what I will miss when I'm in Australia, just doing simple but pleasurable things like that.
