Does crack me up how people go on about it. I mean, is anyone forcing you to buy this product? Nope. So why get so worked up about it? If you don't like it, don't buy it. Nobody cares if you think it's shit.

Ah, but surely making people aware of the perceived failings and maybe pointing them in a different direction is a useful service?

Bit like recommending where to live near Brisbane ... isn't that what a forum is all about?

Yea, but if you're moving to the Brisbane area and someone who lives near there advises an area is a bit crap, that's based on first-hand knowledge. How many people in this thread have spent some time using an iPad and how many are merely slavishly repeating the pearls of wisdom falling from the tables of Digg, Reddit, Engadget and Gizmodo? Hmmm?

Good. On balance, as I need Visual Studio I'd go for a 10in notepad even if I'm pushing it. It's for critical dev work, not all day.

Fair points but even if you have no first hand experience then maybe, just maybe, it is worth making people aware of the flaws (and alternatives) based on the facts.

Otherwise you end up with people buying an iPad just because everyone else does ... and that kind of monopoly can't be a good thing in general.

Let's face it, if you have any sense and are going to lay out that kind of cash then you're going to test drive everything first anyway and make up you own mind.

And then what someone else says means about as much as an election promise.

Unless of course you know, deep down, you have made a poor decison and need to be reassured you are not alone.

Ah, just like people that go on the immediate defensive about moving to/from Oz ...

You have to have priorities ... Worms World Party and Carmageddon compatible or nothing for me.

Super VGA, pah! XGA forever!

You are standing at the end of a road before a small brick building. Around you is a forest. A small stream flows out of the building and down a gully ...

Sorry I forgot that you had to get the grate keys and lamp from the house first. It's been a long time since I last played Caves.

I remember Hitchhikers Guide and Twin Kingdom Valley but that's about it for that genre ... I don't do fantasy, reality is weird enough for me.
