HOT NEWS!
I rang the agent to see how the last offer was received and he tells me that they are now interested as long as the agent will reduce his commission by $4000K!
Agent asks me if we can go up any more and I moan on about cost of living and how we're really scraping the barrel and I really don't think I can get any more together....
So he says 'fine, I'll get back to you in an hour'....
Ergo, the vendor is willing to start dealing, which is hopeful. Obviously the last offer rung a few bells.
Agent is obviously trying to get more out of me, but I'm not playing ball with that. No way.

Fantastic news!! It really does look a wonderful house - just my sort of thing! I love the bold colours and it looks like the owners are full of character with lots of life experience... do you know if you'll get a quick settlement date?

And no more trips to IKEA... I don't think it's going to work in there somehow. Once you have all their stuff out, and see how huge all the rooms are you might want to keep it minimalist for a while

Like our last house, we'll live in it for 6 months before we get the feel for what it needs. I guess there's no issues with book space though.
