We had family friends who lived in Buckfast. The husband played the organ in the Abbey & we got a personal guided tour. Obviously as I was only about 8 at the time, my main interest was the gift shop!:o I bought a book about female saints & decided I would be a nun!:eek::rofl:

I lived in Torquay for 10 years and often popped up to the Abbey (not to get Buckfast :D) - it was too expensive from there lol :rofl:

The shop was brilliant, i loved it and would buy gifts to send home to Scotland to family and they'd all come down and i'd have to do the tour with them!

I loved Buckfast back then ('70's) but went back 20 yrs later & boy had it changed & not for the better:(

yeah theres a huge problem with it in Scotland, totally stigmatised now with neds, gangs and violence!

Well hello my friend, have to say a big thanks for the tea party,the cake was delicious - maybe next time we could have an alcohol party :ohmy: - yes plenty of booze would do the trick!

Next time could I sit next to somebody else please, cos scottishcelts kept touching me inappropriately under the table all evening.
