I'm getting old

Its my daughters last day at primary today...shit I'm getting old lol

Was at her graduation on Wed night and she and another couple of the kids looked sooo grown up, then there was a couple of cheeky little buggas that look like they should just be starting P1

One wee bloke....nicknamed Monkey,,,asked The Big Boofhead and the Old Dragon to come up and accept his autobiography....his mum being the PE teacher lol

They all got a lovely certificate and a Year Book with all their photos in and a summary of what they have acheived and would like to be. The headmaster and Year teacher had put together a slide show of all their camps and stuff throughout the year, the headmaster write them a wonderful poem...just a fantastic night, followed by a HUGE cake:thumbsup:

In the UK they would have got a certificate and a Good Luck.

I feel sad cause my daughter missed all that, she was in year 6 when we came to Australia, so she missed the UK one, than in SA she would have had to do one more year before going to high school, so she missed that cause we moved to QLD, in GC she moved to year 7, 2 weeks before the school end so she missed that too, poor babe.

I got a dictionary signed by the headmaster (which we got all our friends to sign, and I still have!) and a ruler with a pen, pencil, rubber and sharpener stuck on them from my teacher when I left Primary in Year 4 :D

Went back to primary here in Year 7 and went 'WTH IS ALL THIS' at 'graduation' XD Though it was very good fun. And I did faint during dress rehearsal in front of the school, meaning any kids from my school who I met during the next two years or so would exclaim 'Oh, I know you! you're the girl who fainted on parade!'

Good fun night. I especially liked how we were all dressed up, dancing and singing like angels, and then they released the balloons and it was FREE FOR ALL KILL THEM ALL MWAHAHAHAHAHA

And you're NEVER old until your kids' kids have kids!!!!! Even then, you're just dignified :)

Re: I'm getting old

My tiddler had hers Tuesday evening. They were all in their year 7 uniform so no daft dress up pressure and it was a brill evening. The kids had a ball. At first born's leaving assembly in the UK I sobbed like a baby from start to finish. This one was just a great evening and I only got a bit emotional when the kids spontaneously started singing along with the power point presentation of their year - they didn't know it was going to happen.
