Hi Jan,

We are still here in the UK but have a PR visa and are trying to get together the courage to up sticks and come to the GC. I've got 4 kids although the eldest won't come as she is determined to go to Uni in England. What do you honestly think about the GC as a place to bring up kids? Mine are so happy here in the UK, at great schools, loads of opportunities, loads of extra curricular stuff to do, and whilst I would love for them to have a swimming pool and the weather to use it, I wonder whether thats too shallow a reason to want to come??

Also, two of my kids are so fair skinned and find the heat uncomfortable, do you think people acclimatize to the weather there?

Hope you don't mind me asking, can I ask you why you changed from Adelaide to the GC?

I wish my OH was a civvie and didn't have to go away with work so much...

I wish I could go to bed/waken up to the sound of the ocean, but alas it's a few hours away lol

I wish Northern Ireland and Australia were closer...and that things in NI would calm down so I don't have to keep checking the NI news with dread. :(

I wish I wasn't so messy!!!
