I just got back from the Uk

And the list of things missing from Oz has now grown....

Pringles with more than 3 or 4 flavours
Toffee crisps
Revels
Malteasers with nice chocolate and proper honeycomb center
Minstrals
finger of fudges
Scotch eggs
Sausage rolls with just sausage meat in them
Pork sausages you actually want to eat
Dime bars
Golden Grahams
shoes in half sizes
Trousers in more than one leg size
Quavers
Hoola hoops

And before any defensive squid comes on and tells me yes you can get these
by driving 1500km to a sells british shop and pay 4 times the price, talk to the hand!

Even the marzipan tasted better!

Oh not moaning just saying is all.

Dairy Milk tastes ****ing weird too. Something about it that's just 'off'. Same problem with Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. In fact I tested that particular theory by buying a very expensive box of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes in the Treats from Home shop in Sydney - and they tasted far superior.

The simple answer is to never go back & then you will simply forget all these little things that can add up to one big thing!;)

when i got back from my holiday in scotland , everything here tasted orrible, the meat tasted verrrrrrrryy dodgy, but the memory of the taste is fading again and everything is edible again:) Hopefully in another year i will be so brainwashed that i'll be saying how things are cheaper here (pmsl) and the pavements paved with gold.

I don't give a toss about most British food (and please, Dairy Milk is not real chocolate) but I do buy shoes in half sizes in Sydney.

Are not those bars you can buy in Ikea the same as Dime bars? Can't remember exactly what they call them now.

And don't get me started on trousers. Having a slim athletic 16 year old son at 6 foot 3 I am just exceptionally grateful that I have a friend who's a seamstress. Especially when it came to finding him a suit for the year 12 grad ball.

Nah, for me it was that last punnet of strawberries off the market - first English strawberries of the season. Pure gold! Only problem was though that they didnt last (with one granddaughter addicted to strawberries it was a close run thing as to who ate the most and the last two were eaten as we got in the car to head off to the airport on Tuesday).

Also, if Hotel Chocolat decides to move over here I would promise to be a faithful customer!

Stpo you're making us jealous:lol:

The biggest thing I miss is plain bread toasted with butter, plain bread is a Scottish thing and a must every time I go home.
