You're lucky they keep driving in the rain. I know Aussies that pull over to the side whenever it starts raining and wait till it stops. reason? The speed linit says 80 km, so they think they should be driving at 80km but they can't manage that in the rain
in sydney they just stop dead, even if the road is busy:confused: |

Re: how to spot a pom
You've never experienced REAL hail have you?
When that is imminent shletering under a bridge is a VERY GOOD IDEA!! After a big hail storm you can always see a few cars driving around with that distinctive "golf-ball" style panelwork!! Once thats happened to you once you'll never be able to drive without being scared silly when the radio says theres hail on the way! |

I've been in some heavy rain in my time (in other tropical climes too) but I will admit to stopping in heavy rain last year, this was going over the Story Bridge, I didn't want to go over it but I was on the only straight road I knew in bugger-all visibility. Pulled off, headed for an undercover apartment car-port and watched the other drivers stuggle. 10 minutes later it was over. I have also stopped in the MG, that was more to do with the efficiency of the ancient wipers than anything else. Safety first, if I get home without a prang then I couldn't give a monkey's what anyone thinks. |
