Despise my job...

However....
- I do love the 10 minute commute
- and the staff discount comes in handy
- and the people are great
- and sometimes I get a little tingle of satisfaction at being good at what I do

..but all up it sucks (too many hours for too few $$$) and I've been job hunting for nearly a year now (with gradually increasing intensity - so only a few months serious looking).

It's pretty good. Helped no end by my commute to work consisting of walking downstairs, scratching my backside, stroll into the kitchen, switch laptop on... and I'm there.

Funnily enough that's also the downside to it. I tend to work too much and it is isolating.

I put 80% but would really have to say it's closer to 90. I'm appreciated by my colleagues and my supervisors which is a really nice change from what I was used to in Canada. The main downfall is the relatively crap wage. I don't even mind the commute into the city, so I know it's good.

How about you?
Love it - worked in a fab office environment for over 5 years for a great company and when I had to relocate for hubby's health reasons - they set me up working from home in remote office and paid for all my expenses - Internet, phone, fax etc....

when I have a slow day I call in and ask if anyone else has anything they need help with and then sit and read in the garden - the only down side is that my mobile doesn;t get hardly any coverage so i can't walk far away from the phone in case urgent stuff comes up.

Love it 2/3rds of the time, rest of the time it's too quiet, so much so that my hours are being cut next term. One person who pisses me off big time and I had a bit of melt down last week because of her and then for some reason apologised. Come late November I'll love it again.

Mechanics of doing current post 0%, mind numbingly boring and not enough of it.

Overall job, being in the Navy, 100% all the way. Good social life, get moved around every couple of years to a new post, different people routines etc can't fault it. Finally where else are they going to pay me extra to go somewhere, sit on a beach and drink
