Not being a driver I don't know this stuff - so how come the points go on YOUR licence if HE was driving?
There is a section on the form for the offender to fill in to take the responsibility for the fine and the points. |

Re: How long does it take to receive a speeding fine in the post?
On a lighter note...
A police officer pulls a guy over for speeding and has the following exchange: Officer: May I see your driver's license? Driver: I don't have one. It was revoked when I got my 5th DUI. Officer: May I see the registration for this vehicle? Driver: It's not my car. I stole it. Officer: The car is stolen? Driver: That's right. But come to think of it, I think I saw the registration in the glove box when I was putting my gun in there. Officer: There's a gun in the glove box? Driver: Yes sir. That's where I put it after I shot and killed the woman who owns this car and stuffed her body in the boot. Officer: There's a BODY in the BOOT?!?!? Driver: Yes, sir. Hearing this, the officer immediately called his Captain. The car was quickly surrounded by police, and the Captain approached the driver to handle the tense situation: Captain: Sir, can I see your license? Driver: Sure. Here it is. It was valid. Captain: Whose car is this? Driver: It's mine, officer. Here's the registration. The driver owned the car. Captain: Could you slowly open your glove box so I can see if there's a gun in it? Driver: Yes, sir, but there's no gun in it. Sure enough, there was nothing in the glove box. Captain: Would you mind opening the boot? I was told you said there's a body in it. Driver: No problem. Boot is opened; no body. Captain: I don't understand it. The officer who stopped you said you told him you didn't have a license, stole the car, had a gun in the glovebox, and that there was a dead body in the boot. Driver: Yeah, and I'll bet the lying barsteward told you I was speeding, too! |
Re: How long does it take to receive a speeding fine in the post?
I have just received said speeding fine, dated 24th February came today 14th March. $200 & 3 demerit points, it came to my husband:rofl: as he is the registered keeper but we have 28 days to fill in the back to say it was me:blink:
Also, because it is $200 or more you can pay in instalments, first one being $60 due by April 8th. Hopefully with the change of ownership for the points may be able to drag it out a little longer:thumbsup: |

Re: How long does it take to receive a speeding fine in the post?
It arrived today. :(
Offence date: 2/3/11 Notice date: 16/3/11 So two weeks roughly. Wasn't me though, so will send it back within 28 days. It also says I need to go to a JP to make the name change declaration. |
