My day was spent in quiet contemplation, reflecting on how it shouldn't be "Me" and "I" and "my" there are occassions when it really SHOULD be all about "you"

Good for you Sam!

You've had a long spell of illness, thank God you're getting well again. Now focus on those people around you who really matter

I have just booked yet another night in Agnes Water.... I am never going to leave this place!!
That is such a gorgeous spot, had great fun there a few years ago, so tranquil and stunning scenery.
How's the surfing?!

Please ladies get your boobs checked! It's free after you turn 40 and it could save your life!
Just saw that

But that is one thoroughly extensive list of tests First class care, as you say Breastscreen seem to be a very dedicated bunch.

Wishing you the absolute best for a great recovery.

And echo what you have said, ladies get your boobs done! I will dread it every time I go now, but at least my hatred of the dentist is now in perspective.

Cheers! Breast screen wa are fantastic and very thorough! It's all looking very positive ( the removal of a lymph node for biopsy shows no lymph involvement) what they thought were two tumours is now only 1, tumour markers in blood are low and though it's a grade 3 cancer they tell me that the higher grade responds better to chemo. My heart is in excellent nick, my bones are good ( even though I have osteo arthritis) and my auto immune disease also seems to be not bothering me at the minute. It's been hellish at times ( the worst part being injected with radioactive isotope in my boob, it might sting a bit they said, that was an understatement and they don't do it in a sound proof room for no reason!) but a lot of good has come out of it, the kindness of people around me has been unbelievable. My day today has turned out well because I've heard that I've been accepted for a clinical trial with my chemo, which I start on Monday, I will be trying out Abraxin, which they hope will mean my body is more accepting of the chemo. So from being in the depths of dispair and checking on. Y life insurance I'm on top and know that it's looking good for a positve outcome, just a tough year ahead to get there!

You are an absolute inspiration. On days when I am feeling sorry for myself I remind myself that as shitty as things are for me that I have my health for the time being. Nothing is certain in life but you have got it by the testicles and giving it what for!!

NB what put in perspective for me was news that a 17 yr old at our school has terminal cancer, she has 6 months to live, it's not bloody fair she's a lovely kid. I'm not saying I don't have my wobbly days ( and will have more once chemo starts) but there have been so many positives, I'm very lucky.

Difficult to post after the sad situation above.... however in the vein of life goes on.

Weekend starts here for me at least.... Having my first drinks of the weekend, then off to my mates place, to meet up with some fellow football fans, then into the City Center to watch proper football

Got a leg of goat marinating tandoori style in the fridge at present, going to give it a slow roast in the webber, or even over the rotassarie tomorrow... another reason for a few beers and friends over... Combined with some A league football on the TV .

Bit cool in Melbourne though.

I bought a second hand Alice Cooper CD today and played it loud in the car all the way home.

I had a happy afternoon playing with 5 Boxer puppies that are five weeks old - they were beyond cute. I want one. Having said that, it would inevitably become DestructoPup Mk II - so it's best that we don't get another one. That and the fact that my friend said we'd be homeless if we came home with another dog - d'oh!

Just got home from a MOST EXCELLENT weekend camping with mates... And HIM and Mumbles....

Feel exhausted, but think that's because I am Totally chillaxed... I could sleep for a week

If I had been allowed to take annual leave this week... Which I'm not...even though I haven't had any for a YEAR and have actually begged for it....

I was told yes, around pt visits..... But now it's ...ok you don't have any patient visits...but we DO have submissions.... And document creation that needs to be done.... And we need to hit the ground running.

I am not waving. I am drowning

If it carries on like that, they'll have you working over Christmas!
