How has your day been?

Re: How has your day been?
Just got back from a school concert - DD had to play a piece she had never rehearsed before, so sight read the whole thing. She looked a bit worried, but did it well. She also had the top part in a choral piece, and only 2 others were singing the high bit - you could hear her, and she seemed to be one of the few that knew the words- some of the others had the music and still didn't come in.
Got a headache now- the trumpets were LOUD.

Busy day today, more driving than I am used to so pretty knackered. Not looking forward to tomorrow as my Dad gets his scan results - he is scared, well we all are and there is bugger all we can do about it.

Got a call from First Born with her plans for today which appeared to include me. I was to pick her up, drive her to shopping centre, we'd have lunch (I paid), we'd then take my mother's day pressie back (that she never got round to giving me but worked out I already had it). I had to pay extra for something different then I was to drive her up 60km up the motorway for her to buy a fishtank off Gumtree and then I could take her home. She's good to me.

I had no internet yesterday, I survived remarkably well. So did the kids!
We managed to watch 3 complete tv series and 2 films. I even did housework.
Well, I washed clothes ready for our jollidays, does that count? Oh, we even worked out the meal plan for the boys next week, so I know how many fridge loads of food I have to buy for them tomorrow.

My hands are cold. The nobjockey sitting next to me kept snorting snot for the entire 35 minute journey. I wanted to punch him in his stupid face, but with his runny nose I would have probably ended up with boogers on me.

The ends of my fingers are white and numb - going to get the wheatpack out in a min. Reynauds is a pain in winter. Might go for a swim later- but last week's experience is putting me off. I don't want to swim through sewage again, but it is too cold to use the outside pool today.

Re: How has your day been?
I sincerely hope I don't have another day like yesterday - dealing with stupid insurance companies over a claim. I thought that the other party was not going to proceed as I had heard absolutely nothing for 8 weeks after a minor bump in a carpark. (Both reversing out at the same time and gently bumping.) Now her company tells me that she is claiming I am at fault and demanding $680 to fix a bumper that had slightly popped, but which was on an old car that was already damaged and it may have been popped before the collision (at all of 2kph). They also said that I hadn't put in a claim to my insurance company, and wouldn't believe me when I said I had. I had to phone my company (on hold....) who had no record of this other company phoning them. Then call the claimant's company back with a claim number.
I hadn't planned to get the scratch on my bumper repaired, as I have an excess of $600. So I took my car to get a quote for repair. It came in at between $450-$600. My insurance company will not fight the claim unless I claim for it, so it will cost me at least $600. The likelihood is that it will be judged a 50-50 accident, which I'm prepared for, as I was reversing and didn't see her, but there was no way that she was ready to drive off and I just drove out backwards into her, as she claims. It takes me over 30 seconds to gently ease the car out of a tight space - I am very cautious, and when I started reversing I had checked that no one else was pulling out.
Now I have to phone them again today to see if I have to pay the $600 excess for them to fight the claim, PLUS the repairer's bill, or whether it is just the $600 I will lose.
And of course, my premium will be affected.

Fanbloodytastic - it is going to be a good day.
Dads scan shows the tumour is contained and can be treated - he will have his treatment in 3 weeks time. We dont know about my sisters treatment/prognosis as yet but fingers crossed.
I don't need to see my specialist for 2 months which is good news for me. My job is going really well and Mr PP has booked us a trip down South as a treat. So I am doing the happy dance today and feeling very grateful for lots of things!
