10001 spray or carpet cleaner is usually a good try

Forget it -it's impossible - we had the exact same problem, tried every product on the market and got a carpet cleaner man in to have a go at it -

If its just small spots then do what I did - pull the carpet up in the walk-in-robe, cut a piece from the edge, put the carpet back and use your 'offcut' to fill the red stain (you'll have chopped the red stained carpet out with scissors). :scared: Good luck.

If it was just one area I'd try this but it's ALL over the carpet - I found a website which said to try WD40 - now the carpet is no longer red but yellow !!! May try the teabag idea now

The problem is that face paints are generally oil based, hence why they stick like flies to s*it...better to save your energy and cop it off the bond, i'm afraid. Besides, how much can they take off your bond? - if all else fails, ask them and if its cheeky then get a new carpet fitted yourself.

Found this for you:

www.howtocleananything.com

-go to household and then carpets-

Theres answers for finger paint, lipstick, suntan oil, grease, shoe polish etc, all greasy, like face paints.

Don't know about face paint specifically, but I can recommend Vanish Preen for Carpets Powershot. I've just used it to clean up an old port stain off our mushroom rental carpet and it came up a beauty. Also used it on some very very old sticky marks (not sure what they were as they were here when we moved in) and they're coming up slowly.

Only about $5, so if it doesn't work there's nothing really wasted...
