House sold!

Well - we've gone and done it. Got a good price for the house to a genuinely nice family. They're chain-free and currently living in rented, so everyone's a winner. Looking at the usual 8-10 weeks (why the **** does it take so long?) and then we're gone. Going to have a convo with the family themselves on Monday to discuss the sale to thrash a few things out - like leave date and stuff - and to put out to them that there are wheels we have to set in motion regarding shipping the dog out that will make a pull-out very expensive for us. So... fingers crossed for completion ... I'm off to get wankered :D

Congratulations Hutch. :)

Know what you mean.
Ours is seemingly a simple one too but already 4 weeks in and no end in sight.

It doesnt have to take that long. I would suggest when you speak to the buyers you both agree to push solicitors and make sure that the paperwork is put in order asap, such as searches and mortgage application. It can easily be done in 4-5 weeks if both are working together. We bought our buyers house last year (long story) and with both of us working together we pushed it through in 4 weeks.
