History

So when did the word 'History' become un-PC? I was just reading today that the Federal government was trying to push for history lessons to be made compulsory until year 10.

But what amazed me was the stupid names schools use for History these days.

In QLD its part of 'Studies of Societies and Environment'

In WA its called 'Time, Continuity and Change'. For gawd sake

Did they have lots of beardie types sitting around trees smoking pipes for months to come up with these titles.

What are our other 'subjects' called I wonder:

Geography - Spatial awareness in a global environment?
Physics - Object interactions in the real world?
Chemistry - How to build your own crack lab?

Well maybe not the last one.

It's actually called SSE over here too. Time continuity and Change is just one of the Learning Area Outcomes, along with Culture, Investigation Communication and Participation, Place and Space, Resources, Natural and Social Systems and Active Citizenship.
