Not an option. Do they 'bleed' you?

My mon discovered she has haemochromatosis when she was in late 50's and yes all they done was take some blood - I only think it was a few times and now she is just checked.

Hope this helps.

Most boards are adjustable, consult the user manual.

A friend's ex husband and youngest son have it. Every couple of years they have blood taken and they're fine.

My friend's husband has this - he gives blood every couple of months and eats no red meat.

Our former neighbor had it too...apparently it's not that uncommon...

Re: High iron levels

Lay off red meat (will also help reduce cholesterol levels as well as iron) and get yourself bled- my singing teacher's OH used to have to do it regularly. His levels were so high that his personality changed- you always knew when he was due to go to the phlebotomists.

I have the opposite- my white and red cells are lower than normal, but my iron levels are ok- concentrated in what few cells I have. I don't like red meat, but I'm forced to eat it. Yuk!
