hey poll, im making a start on mals tra tonight....got the forms and bumf (bumf=literature pertinent to the trade, cresta ) printed off, just gotta sort out his previous employers and employment history and we will be up and running

Hello me old mate!

Yeah, still here, just run off me feet. I started a 4 year Bachelor of education course this year at JCU, coming towards the end of the 1st semester now and exam time looming.

Really enjoying it but its a LOT of study and even harder when you've two demanding littlies...anyhoo, how are you and yours?

I know what you mean about settling in. We've been in our new place about 10 weeks now and I feel really settled at last. Didn't have too much of a problem with where were before but couldn't stand renting whilst we built. Theres a lot to be said for having your own place.

It's strange, been here two years in September, still don't have even a vague Aussie accent and yet my kids are fully Aussiefied now!!! Cute!!!

Still get the piss taken out of me for my 'U', as in 'Pub' rather than 'pab' etc etc.

Have managed to make quite a few new friends at Uni which is great, aswell as my two good girlfriends I met before Uni, so thats nice. It's good to have a buddy network going over here, otherwise I think it can get tough when you're missing family and old buddies.

My brother has just recently announced his wife and him are expecting their first child in the uk in september, so theres family expectation for me to go over and see my niece / newphew but don't know if it'll happen as we are skint for the next 4 years while I'm at Uni, so thats going to be a toughie...

I still miss Sainsburys ready prepared veggies from the chiller but am pleased to report that Woollies up here now have ready peeled carrots and broc and cauli, so looks like FNQ is slowly pulling itself out of the timewarp!!!

Theres heaps of new folks on here I don't recognise (obviously I've been away too long) what ever happened to Phoenixuk2oz? She gave me her home e-mail addy and I lost it. If you're reading this janey, drop me a line!!!

Glad things are going well for you, btw Phoenixuk2oz is now Phoenixinoz, with a cheeky bubby avatar what blows kisses. She is still around a fair bit but I guess most of us are getting on with life and don't have the time or the obsessiveness we had back then!
