My understanding is that there is no Pfizer available for anyone over 50 - unless you're the premier of Queensland of course.

You would think that it should be available to all over 50's too if medical history warrants it and specialist recommends. I couldn't find anything when I googled though.
If this is not the case then we'll have higher risk people not vaccinated.

This is what I found out about Pfizer for over 50’s, will add the links as well.
https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/protect-yourself-others/covid-19-vaccine/about/about-the-covid-19-vaccine
“I am over 50, can I request Pfizer. If you are eligible to receive your COVID-19 as part of Priority Group 1a and 1b then you can register to receive a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination at a Queensland Health vaccination location.Currently there are no other medical reasons for a patient to require access to a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine apart from patients with a history of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, splanchnic vein thrombosis or heparin-induced thrombocytopenia and thrombosis. If your doctor has requested you receive Pfizer, they will need to follow a GP referral pathway to a Hospital and Health Service.”
this is the link to health.gov.au for the 1a and 1b groups.

I whole-heartedly agree. Getting the vaccine then yelling about how she can now jet off to Tokyo, on the same day that she refused permission for 2 newly-returned fully-vaccinated Australians to see their new born child.

I thought they were using Pfizer on high risk people regardless of age - quarantine workers for example. Not sure if this is the case though - I may have misheard at some point.

I had the AZ vaccine a week after the changed the rules to overs 50's. I think I could have got the Pfizer but would have involved a trip to he RBHW which would have been more risky.

Yes. Have had both doses since early April........and would urge everyone to do it (if no medical reason) so that I and a couple of hundred or thousand others can get back into the workforce when the borders open as Licensed Aircraft Engineers, please! Sooner we get to some level of herd immunity and open the borders, the more of us in long haul travel can get back to work.
