Has Julia Gillard ever wondered what it would be like to be a muslim?
I have often wondered whether she would have wondered this? I wonder.

She's a long way off that judging by the look of her in Brisbane this week. Plastic smiles? That mask on her face didn't even make the grade as a false grin, it was hideous

She makes decisions based on science not faith.
She's intelligent.
She has a reputation throughout her career of being a centrist and moderate.
She negotiates with others.
She isn't homophobic or racist.
Supports the NBN.
She has broken the monopoly of Telstra and managed the long term nirvana of structural separation of Telstra to increase competition.
She has nationalised health and safety laws to reduce costs on business.
She has passed legislation to support education for australians to skill them up rather than the easy alternative.
Supports strengthening our public institutions like health and education.
She has passed a very strong mental health bill.
She has held together a minority government with great skill.
She has managed to attract and maintain the loyalty of independents who have a conservative background (opposite to her) due, in their words, to her character and policies.
She has dealt with a terrible opposition leader with dignity who even people on his side of politics think is lowering politics further into the gutter:
Bob Katter: "Bob Katter - one of the crossbenchers who backed Mr Abbott - is now deeply disenchanted, accusing the Liberal leader of welshing on a deal to put up laws mandating ethanol in petrol. Mr Katter says the Coalition's failure to put up the laws before the Greens took control of the Senate fills him ''with a deep sense of disquiet'' over whether Mr Abbott can be relied on."
Tony Windsor: "Independent Tony Windsor recalls feeling alarm and pity when Mr Abbott revealed the depth of his desire to become prime minister.
''I remember him saying, 'Tony, I would do anything for this job. The only thing I wouldn't do is sell my arse - but I'd have to give serious thought to it.'''"
Rob Oakeshott: "Mr Windsor's fellow crossbench MP Rob Oakeshott also recalls Mr Abbott begging for the job - ''yes he did'' - but would not comment publicly about the gag that he would consider prostitution."
Andrew Wilkie: "By accepting Labor’s offer of $340 million I rejected an offer of $1 billion from the Coalition. My assessment was that the Coalition probably never had the $1 billion it promised and failed to convince me it would be delivered through proper process. Not insignificant is that the Coalition’s offer was made in the shadow of their $7+ billion election promises black-hole revealed by Treasury"
In its first year the Gillard govt passed 185 bills and lost none. Howard managed 108 in the same period.
