I don't read as many of the threads as I used to but of those that I do, I get the impression that the forum is currently dominated by half empty people.

But maybe it's because they are more vocal than those with a more positive inclination.

So in respect of "the Australian dream" which category do you think you fall into ?

Is your glass half full ?

I think I've managed to make the most of my emigration experience. My little family has made it through some really tough times these last 2 1/2 years and seem to have come out on the right side of things. I have a job that I absolutely love and get lots of variety from, my husband has a job that lets him travel all over the state doing work that interests him, the kids have made friends, we're building our dream home, we have great neighbours & have made some really nice friends. I would like to think that more of the people we've met would have become friends, but it hasn't always worked out, so c'est la vie!

Overall, I would have to say I'm half full.

Funnily enough, I'd say my glass is at the middle

There's some things here piss me off, but then again, there was stuff that annoyed me in Northern Ireland too.

So I'm a half-way guy. I'd order a new full pint if I could. :(

just wanted to say, I was an avid reader and occaisional poster here for several years but the vibe on the site had changed considerably - it seems I missed a huge upset on here and lots of people have skulked off -nice to see a few of the old 'uns on this post. hope it lightens up a bit again-seems all people care about is getting up their post tally and trying to be clever- hey I love a bit of sarky humour but people need to chill a bit! gripe over....:)

Half full...? Mine's almost spilling over! Yes I miss my family and friends, yes the wildlife freaks me out, yes there are some bloody rude Aussies out there, yes there are parts of 'the system' I don't really agree with, yes it annoys me that you can't get decent gravy or custard here, yadda-yadda-yadda - BUT I accept these things as all part and parcel of having given up my life in the UK in search of something different -it's all part of the big adventure and I'd prefer to spend my time getting on with it instead of complaining about something that I essentially chose. :thumbup:

I am generally on the 'glass is half full' side. Always think it's gonna come good......eventually!:D
Last week or two have been running on empty but am definitely filling my pint glass again now:thumbsup:
