In all seriousness, at the moment I think you'd struggle to stay up, you seem to be competing with Hull for players, which says a lot about the financial state you're in. But as you say, in time your finances would improve if you were in the Prem, so you'd have a bit more cash to splash. Mind you, Ãf we can't buy quality at the moment, (and we've been in the last two Champions League finals), god knows what the likes of Benzema and Ribery would make of the weather up in Glasgow. Could be worse though, you could end up like our bitter Blue mates at Eastlands, who can't buy Swine Flu at the minute.
Don't listen tae the newspapers - they submit too much spin  |

Don't listen tae the newspapers - they submit too much spin  There was a time when Scottish teams were offering top money to players, but with the "rich get richer" mentality of football it doesn't look good unless you can get into the EPL. |

Well, coming from the weak position of supporting a club that is 650m in debt, the consensus seems to be that Scottish clubs can't compete in terms of transfer fees and wages with big English, Spanish and Italian clubs (especially now Setanta has gone tits up I'd imagine),so despite the fact you've got the obvious draw of Champions League football you're battling Hull for players.

Bear in mind that the demise of Setanta means one less TV Co bidding for rights to the prem - could be a knock on effect in the next few years Forgot to mention Celtic have a total debt of......................................£35 and that was only because Neil Lennon forgot has wallet and had to get a Taxi home from the pub on the clubs credit card. |

Well despite the ridiculous debt, which was cuased by the Glaziers, not the club, United are in the fortunate position that not only are Sky coughing up a barrow load of cash (and ESPN seem keen to get into the market), but so are their sponsors (the US government via AIG, and then some other firm for 4 years after that), and they have 76500 poor sods paying 40+ quid 25 times a season for their tickets. So if it all falls apart when God retires and Mourinho blows it all, they'll still be a valuable asset for our lovable yanks to sell onto the latest ego-maniac who wants to get into football, and they wont have a debt. They're just too big to do a Leeds now. As for the Celts, I was just trying to say that it's not like the old days when they were battling for Mo Johnstone and bringing Lambert back home, there's no mention of Ribery, Benzema or Aguerro going over the border; they just can't pay the transfer fees or wages and can't compete with England, Spain or Italy. |

As for the superstars, the only time they will cross the border is to face us in the CL and experience the magic that is paradise. They all talk about, just a pity none of them want to play for nothing otherwise they would all sign. Just ask your new striker. He bores people shitless with his waxing lyrical of the 'best atmosphere he's ever played in' :D |
Re: HAIL HAIL !
2 points, admin staff will never win the league for you! And what's your problem with Mo Johnston playing for Rangers since you lot love to portray that you are not sectarian (Judas) was it not the case that he chose a better club and one that could pay him the going rate for his talents?
Oh timmy you reek of double standards! |
