Guess The Tv Programme

GUESS THE TV PROGRAMME

Things seem a bit slow on expats at the moment so how about guess the TV programme for a change.

Guess the programme then put your own clue for others to guess...

Clue No. 1

early 1970's programme, main character was a magician who lived in the eleventh century, but however hard he tried, his spells hardly ever worked. He was befriended by a farmer's son, Carrot, and the two share a succession of chaotic misadventures before the wizard succeeds in returning to his own time.

Don't remember that one. Was it English or Australian? I should be old enough (just) to remember it if it was early 70s.
