All booked to stay at Cape Tribulation and will drive from there on arrival at Cairns. Booked for kids to swing through the rain forestetc. Then back to Port Douglas. We booked a Scuba Course with Blue Reef and will up date here on what we think of the company.Quite excited about Cape Trib and seeing a different, wilder part of Oz.Thanks for all your tips.Any more comments or suggestions welcome.

Well I'm properly jel'
You'll have a ball. We were undecided about going up the Daintree after a long trip around Qld and we are so glad we did. It was brilliant. Its truly an amazing place. We were based in Cairns and while we had the best of it (thanks to BE advisors and locals ) given time again I would do exactly what you are doing.
Enjoy (and you will).

Oh, and if you enjoy driving, Cairns to PD is great. By chance we upgraded cars to something more "hoon" and boy was the Captain Cook highway fun.

Have fun- sounds like a great holiday- I'm jealous. No holiday for me this year, or next. Waiting for The Phone Call to go back to the UK, so have to save all our dollars for that.
