Thanks guys, ive got a nice comfy pair of hiking trainers to wear as some of the route is up hill over rough ground. Im aiming on doing it on 1hr 30 .
I will also have a small day sack full of bottles of water, all this walking is thirsty business.

Thanks the very first walk(in 2003) i did for the great north walk was with my aunty and it took over 4 hours to do the 10 miles. So over the years as ive become fitter and more determined to finish quicker. Last year i did it in 1hr 45 mins.

You have the determination so you'll have no problem doing it. Good luck and hope you don't get any blisters.

I limbed in at 2 hours 20 mins, very frustrated with my self . I was going great guns for the first 5 miles, despite starting near to the back for my colour group i managed to get near to the front of the pack . But 7 miles in i slipped on a stoney slope and twisted my ankle in. I finished and am now sporting a black and blue ankle thats been bandaged up by the kind St john Ambulance.
Not sure how much i raised for the diabetic research as my parents are going to collect it all in for me.
