A GOOD Lie

A GOOD Lie
Can you give examples of a lie you told to keep everyone happy? It goes against my nature, but I told a "good" lie today.
We wanted to take our kids to a National Trust site, and my brother said his work colleague had membership of the National Trust, so he would get his card and we could get in for free.
So we got the card, and then didn't use it, because we felt bad about it. Its a charity after all so we just paid our way. And then gave the card back to my brother, and gave a box of biscuits to the work colleague as a thank you for giving us the card, and said it worked great (i.e. we all got in for free).
Everyones was happy, National Trust got their money, my brother thought he had helped me; his work colleague thought he had helped me and got a box of biscuits. My parents were happy that me and my brother were helping each other (we normally fight).
So, in every sense, a GOOD lie.
Any other examples of when you lied for the benefit of everyone?

Come on, did you never tell your folks you were moving away from them, but it wasn't their fault? No really we love you, but gotta go
Or your cousins baby was 'gorgeous', cough cough.
Or that lasagne was lovely, I loved the frozen bit in the middle.
