Surely Kevin07 and Suzi Wong wouldn’t lie to us?

They're pollies, they are taught to lie. However with regard this subject, they can only believe stuff they are sold, by whichever side, the best and go with it. Does that mean it's a lie, the truth or an amalgam of both? Who knows.

Call me selfish if you like but we're talking changes over thousands of years (if ever), do I really have to consider the lives of possible generations that far down the line? I'll consider great grandchildren and even great great grandchildren but after that, they're on their own. At some point this planet will blow up anyway ;)

Re: Global warming

It seems all of my life I have had someone on the TV telling me the world is about to end.

My mother forbade me to drink school milk because of some leakage at a nuclear plant in 1957.

I lived with the threat of nuclear holocaust in 1962 during the Cuban crisis.

The threat carried on for a further 30 years as those evil Russians pointed their missiles direct at my home.
Then it was Acid Rain in the 1960s.

Then Ozone layers were going to destroy the world.

Then the worlds ecological balance was about to be overturned due to the disappearance of the lesser spotted weasel or something.

Then it was bird flue that would end the world.

Now its my carbon production. Jeeze guys, I try to stop farting…

Next it will be something making the magnetic poles to shift that is about to end the world.

If the world is about to end, then lets get on with it. I’m bloody fed up with waiting, and I won’t pay my credit card bill if you are sure it will happen…

That may be part of the reason that some of us just don't get as worked up about it as others. Cry wolf enough times etc...

Depends on what you call experienced and qualified. I dont know how many earth scientists are on here, but i am guessing not many. Have i spent 20 years examining the case. No. But i have reviewed the data, geochemistry and statistics and as a scientist the evidence does not give rise to the argument.

I saw on another post how you say 10'000s of scientists all agree. Sorry to disapoint you but they dont. Of the 6000 scientists the IPCC had signed. Only 2000 were actualy scientists - the remiander being everything from economists to sociologists. Of that 2000 a significant number are currently taking legal action to have their names removed as they did not actually endorse it.

At the last conference of the IPCC, a significant delagation of climate scientists from some of the best research insitutes in the world were not permitted entry because they disagree with the concept of man made warming.

There are actualy very large numbers of earth scientists who do not agree with it. This is far from a settled theory.

We can all search web sites and spout off a lot of data. But very few people have the opportunity to examine the raw data and look at the real evidence. I have, but have you?

You forgot the encroaching new Ice Age in the 1970s.

I dare say there are a few "top" scientists and experts who are a little embarrassed about that now

They can probably show you some statistics that prove they were right.

Finally it appears the great climate fraud is being exposed, today the senate in Australia voted down the ETS, and newspapers are starting to print stories that we've all been thinking all along. More and more actual scientists rather than politicians are standing up to challenge the consensus, and more and more evidence is pointing to the probability that climate change has been hijacked as a reason to raise taxes.

I know it's only the express so their views are rather limited but it's a front page story.

That with the Telegraph exposing the pro climate change scientists making up results to prove temperatures are rising, it all seems very fishy now.

Hopefully we can beat these greenazis and get some decent scientific proof about all this and actually present it to the public, everyone wants to cut down their emmissions and reduce pollution, can we please be allowed to do it properly and without being lied to.

Nope and I wouldnt know what to do with an ice core if I fell over one (assuming they arent in the least like a Streets icy pole?LOL) but I am really glad to hear that there are scientists out there who are now able to put up their hand and give their analysis without being slapped down, called names and generally vilified in the process.

Good luck to your future research!
