Gillard, Gillard, gone?

Are these the last acts of a desperate woman?

Gillard has pulled out the misogyny card again this week... and now, as momentum gains on a leadership challenge, she's apologising over forced adoptions.

Can anyone take this apology as genuine, given it's timing?

Or is it just plain old politicking and a bid to distract and hold power by riding on the backs of the aggrieved?

This week really does demonstrate the farce of her government. They've pulled the main bulk of the media package now, rather than face a loss on the floor.

The problem is that if she doesn't go today, then she will be leading them into the election.

They won't roll her during the budget sitting.

Ah the misogyny card, funny how that one always comes out when she is under pressure. How come women in Australia and around the world aren't jumping up and down with delight again?

Like I said last year Gillard does more harm to the female cause for equality than good with these kinds of outbursts.

Still can't believe that a dictionary was updated based on all of this political *****. How many women said it wasn't a political card last year and are now saying it is.

The guy who coined the term "the lucky country" is as true today as it was then.
For those that don't know the meaning behind the term it was not meant as a compliment but an observation of its incredibly stupid leaders.

Gillard re-elected unopposed. Don't really know enough about Aussie politics to know if that is a good or a bad thing. Based on what I know if Australia so far, I don't really like her or Abbott/Abott/Abbot/Abutt/whatever...

Abbot will like it. Maybe she will resign eventually, and Rudd can then get drafted...

What was the point of that shite today? They've just made themselves look more out of touch and beatable.

Go Tony!

My guess is Rudd won't stand unless :
  1. he has the obvious numbers to win
  2. those number can force Gillard to step aside, voluntarily
  3. Wingnut has so screwed up something that Labor has has a good chance to win
He doesn't want to get bounced into anything again, he doesn't want to take command of an organisation that's not all behind him when trying to fight an election, and he doesn't want to take commend and then get beaten. Better to wait until Labor have lost in that case, and rebuild without the taint of failure.

Rudd is a realist he knows that the ALP don't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning the next election regardless of who is leader of the party.
To take over now would be like taking over the captaincy of the Titanic just after it hit the iceberg.
They'll lose in September:thumbup: The knives will come out & a new leader of the opposition will be elected before the dust of the voters feet has time to settle. When you stab someone in the back to get the job you expect that same treatment at some point, it's simple Karma.

Agreed, he's playing the long game. He'll become leader after the libs win and buffoon Abbott will be so incompetent that Rudd will stroll into power the election after in a much stronger position.

The only spanner in the works would be if tony is so bad the libs oust him themselves for Turnbull, who is actually one of the few impressive politicians out there.
