Getting a bit fed up with Facebook as a lot of my "friends" post absolute shite. I mainly use it to piss off OH's family: "oh dear its raining, but never mind, its still 28 degrees and the pool is filling up nicely" and such like :)

I love using the weather to piss off the poms, I dont do it often only when theres loads of status updates about going to the beach or having barbies and it's only 17c!

I just dont get Twitter seems weird  My sites are BE, FB, MSE, Seek, my student portal, Library, boring qld legislation and courts and my many email accounts.

Twitter is brill, don't use it to find how many weetabix my friends had for brek this morn but instead of an RSS reader ie. a constant news feed of anything & everything I may be interested in keeping informed about. Try it and see.

The Biggest UK Football site with 58,000 + members... I believe they are the 3rd or 4th biggest Football site in the world.... and proudly it's the Palace Site www.cpfc.org. (Members: 58,533 | Threads: 154,666 | Posts: 8,523,394) More than just football now they speak for the whole of South London and a lot about the UK in general and chat mostly about non football matters... which is just as well LOL ;)

They had 2600 plus on line at one time earlier this year.... Had people in New Orleans when the Cyclone hit, in the hotel in Bombay when that got hit...Sadly also in the WTCenter, so when there is breaking news I head there first. I'd say I'm on the Palace one slightly more than here.

Also the Melbourne Victory site, which sadly isnt up to much.

First ever game I attended as a nipper was at Goodison Park vs Palace (3-1) back in 70 :o

Best footy site? Football365.com

16,500 members before the start of the season.... bigger than any NRL team and will end up bigger than at least 2 AFL teams this season, possibly 3  will probably sell out their 22,000 allocation by September. Dont play the best I will admit.... probably almost as bad as Brighton ;)

Agreed. Twitter used properly is an excellent tool. Weed out all the junk and just subscribe to useful and relevant feeds and its potential as a heads-up for breaking news is tremendous. I've been monitoring it for work reasons for about 6 months or so and we've had alerts through it many times on events before they have hit any of the news websites, of the TV news channels - events including earthquake alerts and resultant tsunami alerts, bombings in Indonesia and India, outbreaks of disease such as Hendra Virus (horses), and bushfires/severe storms/tornadoes in other States.
The ironic thing is though that although I sit here running it throughout my shifts, I do so on my own laptop cos Twitter is blocked by the work IT filter

It's funny isn't it. I'm working at a client at the moment where the CEO was talking to the IT guys about blocking Facebook etc. Yet the organisation has a presence on both Facebook & Twitter set up by the Marketing Department...I wonder if he even realises?

My sites would be BE, Facebook, BBC, Flyertalk (I have to find my next frequent flyer scam)...probably Yahoo! Finance as well.

Indeed. I've noticed a selective few posts by BE posters are linked on the Twit feed, who decides which ones make it?

I like fb cos many friends/relatives happen to live thousands of miles away but it is very static, y'could say a collection of nothingness unless you use it as another news feed. Twitter is better.
