But I agree, its a shocker.

McAffee was a good one, better than Nortons. But i reckon AVAST takes some beating.

My kids swear by AVG, but cannot get it working on this machine cos its 64 bit vista !!!

Yeah, I'm hearing that. I don't use Windoze much, but I had a right game getting Norton off of the system when the free period expired.

Now I use AVG Free and it's much better. Regular definition updates and schedulable scans.

And of course the SUSE 10.3 box doesn't require any of that tomfoolery!

Ok folks

I have tried to download the free virus programme from above link several times but keep getting

Internet Explorer cannot download avg75free_516a1225.eve from softwarefiles.download.com

Any help on what i am doing wrong??

.eve file? dya mean .exe?

Try Firefox.
Sounds like IE blocking downloads, gets complicated explaining how to set permissions. So just install firefox, its better than IE anyway

Then try re downloading, or i could download and send via zip to you, if you wanna send me a separate email addy. However, most email proggys wont allow .exe files to be sent, so best to get firefox.
