Re: This forum!!
I have met some lovely people on this site, some I haven't met but have built up friendships all the same.
I worry about people, get upset over someone's situation and get angry at some posts - it is my little cyberworld really and just as real to me as anything else - real people, real feelings etc. I remember Gobbyjock and Sorchar when my Mum was in the hospice, those two ladies got me through a very difficult time. Gobbyjock also made our move to Australia significantly easier and I am sure we would not had settled so well had it not been for her. I had a fantastic night in Scotland with Mags, Herrchook and Sorchar, a brilliant night in Manchester with Grayling and a few other BE members. The help has been priceless, the friendships made precious and although I can't always get online, I like to keep in touch with what is going on. I suppose BE has periods of quietness, their fair share of trolls etc but for me it is a form of escapism where I can forget anything I might be worried about - or just discuss it with someone. :) |

Giving comfort from the knowledge millions of others have sat up at 2am in the morning boxing crap to tired to throw it out (feels easier to throw it in a box and leave to clear at the other end) (okay maybe it was just me:o). And if your marriage isn't challenged during the move .... Your not trying hard enough. or its a bloody financial arrangement:D Enjoying the initial weeks/months new sights/sounds/smells starting a fresh. I can see something disturbing in that last line:sneaky: At least in this circle of time its only a 24 hour flight and not a week at sea and oh how easy is it for information gathering with the internet. Can't bear too imagine how frustrating it would be waiting for either Royal or Oz mail. |

Re: This forum!!
Yup - I gotta say I love this forum....
If it hadn't been for you lot, I would have happily settled down, thinking we would never have the chance to go to Oz..... Instead, I found BE & read a few posts - now we're looking bankruptcy in the eye & the kids hate us :D Lovin' it  |
