Former prosecutor says he wouldn't have charged Hicks
The former chief prosecutor for the Guantanamo Bay military tribunals has testified he would not have charged Australian David Hicks if the decision had been up to him.
He said he pursued the case after he inherited it from a previous prosecutor.
Air Force Colonel Moe Davis resigned from the war court last year, but he has given evidence at a pre-trial hearing for Osama bin Laden's driver, Yemeni prisoner Salim Hamdan.
During the evidence, he said he wanted to focus on cases serious enough to merit 20 years in prison, but Hicks's case did not meet that test.
He said a supposedly impartial legal adviser demanded prosecutors pursue cases where the defendant "had blood on his hands" because those would excite the public more than mundane cases against document forgers and Al Qaeda facilitators.

Sorry, it probably is interesting but I'm over Hicks and the less news coverage he gets the better in my opinion.Also I feel like shite, cold, achey, bunged up nose and want a huge steaming hot bath but we don't have one

I think it is a shame that he is getting so much publicity.
Pity he didnt get a "Third eye" whilst fighting for his cause.

Totally agree with you Barney, It pisses me off all the do-gooders on his side. No one forced him to get on a plane and end up in Afganistan:curse: He certainley wasn't there doing missionary work. Personally i think he should have stood trial in America.
