Flu Injections
I'm wondering if any BE's have had the flu jab yet this year?
Any adverse reactions or all good? Also, does anyone know if the currently available flu vaccine covers against the bird flu which is now doing the rounds in Asia? |
Re: Flu Injections
I will not have flu jabs, even though I am able to get them free. My OH and MIL always react badly, so OH doesn't have them either. With MS, the last thing I need is something causing my immune system to go into overdrive. It is very effective at keeping the germs at bay.

Re: Flu Injections
Was going to have it on Thursday, but it's common to have a cold like feeling the day after and I had a long day 15 hrs out the house.... So I'm having it this week... Free for wa health employees....
And no, it won't protect against this latest New bird flu.... They select the most likely strains over a year in advance ....... That one didn't even hit the radar then.... |
Re: Flu Injections
We had ours and we're fine :)

Re: Flu Injections
I've had mine- sore arm as my doc was particularly ungentle.
Mine are free- bulk billing dr and I am asthmatic... |
Re: Flu Injections
I was offered one last week at work but said no as I don't think healthy adults need flu jabs. This week I got a cold, people are saying I should have got my flu jab. A little quirk I have noticed in Australian's, they call everything flu, "I had a spot of flu yesterday".

Re: Flu Injections
I have had a flu vaccine every year since I had the flu (real flu, not a cold) and it knocked me off my feet for over a week. Most awful thing I have ever had.
Because I work in health care and frequently in contact with vulnerable people that the flu might just finish them off if they got it, I see it as sensible protection for them and me. I had my flu vaccine three weeks ago and have just had a cold this weekend which some not so bright spark said I shouldn't have got if the flu vaccine was any good!! |
Re: Flu Injections
Felt a bit clucky afterwards. Had a swine of a week.

Re: Flu Injections
after having full blown flu for the past two years, after never having it before, I had my jab on Monday. Slightly sore arm but other than that all good
