Wet and windy here as well! Not sure on the Short Term Accomodation. Try trawling through OzStays. Might have something you like. A few people I know have also stayed at the holiday inn in the city area. We have used Avis car hire. Once you add on all the extras that some do it works out just as cheap. They don't charge for additional named drivers and seemed to be fine. It's cheaper hiring it if you are an Aus resident than UK. They wanted to charge an extra $200 for my sister. We ended up hiring it and putting her as a named driver. Remember you need a credit card to hire a car here. They won't accept cash as a security.

All the best.

hi steve

We are still not sure as we both dont have fixed jobs yet so looking at either south brisbane or Gold coast .Depends on Schools or tafe for my 17yr old as well.
In city for first couple of weeks and try and get schooling sorted first. We loved the GC when we validated but so much choice.
I am speaking to the mater hospital at the moment Husband speaking to company in southport re job (sales and marketing.)so it will depend on who get the right offer first.
