You seem to be getting cut off in most directions judging by the news just now Dead It must be getting to the point around the state where there's nowhere much to evacuate to!

The main problem is there is only one road out and this has been know to be impassable so my timing has to be, how to put this ... a little on the conservative side of 'oops'.

Check Creek, Check Road, Check Logan River, Pack A Bit, Rinse and Repeat ...

The MIL is only 15 mins away and is slightly more elevated so that is Plan A.

Our little road has never been so busy! Everyone's coming to check the river level. Cars parked outside my house.

I know you said you were on a hill, but keep an eye on the level, its gonna be a higher flood level than 1974

Been for a family trip to the creek and dam (which is now the creek) ... sprog enjoyed jumping in puddles, the dog went mental and I seem to be the only one considering the what ifs ... and so it should be.

Oh to be 5 ... or a dog

Doesn't seem any higher, which is nice.

Good luck to anyone in a considerably less fortunate postion than ourselves.

Yep spoken with my neighbour who is with the Police and we have discussed it. Didn't quite reach here in 1974, but almost.

We have exchanged numbers and he will notify us of any change in situation as far as evacuating is concerned.

We have stocked up on goods to last a few days and we're keeping an eye on the river.

You ok where you are Polls?

If its an almost, keep your eyes on it. HAve your kit ready to go and your route planned.

My place is fine barring the tree falling on it or next doors swimming pool overflowing, top of a hill. If i flood, brisbane is 95% gone!!

I'll be at work for the duration though at this rate........

List of Brisbane streets likely to be affected.

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/envi...111-19met.html

Lots of Bulimba & Hawthrone river avenues in there from my old area.

Vim - if you're packed and it's safe to go, FFS go now.

It's all good, got some leeway yet, I'll be monitoring it regularly

People, if we can keep this thread for the official warnings from Poll and other detailed info in here and then the general 'worry about posters etc' to the other thread it would probably help those looking for the warnings without having to run through our obvious worries and chat about the devastation. Thanks.

Absolutely crazy at the supermarket today - no water left and no BAKED BEANS!!!! Over an hour in line at the checkout - we are in a listed flood zone, but it's crazy. My sister phoned and told me to fill up the bath with water in case I run out of the water I've bottled. I had eight family members arriving tomorrow from Darwin but they've cancelled their trip and pile of neighbours and friends in the predicted flood zones said they'll come (some have boats) to stay with us if their homes go under. I wonder if we'll actually get any of them on our doorstep over the next couple of days.
