We lived just off Bribie Island Rd/Caboolture Rd - we nearly flooded in the heavy rains of 2009 when the Bruce Hwy was closed, Caboolture flooded and Bribie Island Rd was closed for a couple of days. Just thanking God that we're not there now when it is so much worse, but still very worried about friends living north of Brisbane.

Thanks to everyone for these updates, its very scary and I hope that all the BE'ers who live in the affected areas are keeping safe.

This is off one of the news sites - Bruce Highway near Bribie......its been closed there two or three times over the last few days. You can just see the tops of the barrier on the other side of the road above the water.

I am still trying to contact my Uncle & Aunt who live close to Toowoomba. Can't get hold of them by mobile, landline or email so I am pretty worried now, they live in the middle of nowhere called Rosalie Plains just west of Toowoomba. If anyone know any info on this are I would be very thankful.

Fortunately we are okay here on the Gold Coast.

Some of the news stories which will come out of this are going to be very shocking and sad. Spare a thought for those who have lost everything including their families.

Just devastating Polly, you just can't imagine how those poor families feel, truly an awful day for the whole of Australia.
