Re: Fitness Ideas
You may have already tried it but I find commuter cycling great (as opposed to sports cycling)...because it has a purpose it doesn't feel like exercise...can keep it interesting by exploring different places on your commute. Get to really learn your city like never before if you're an urban explorer busy body like me. Plus it replaces something else, your old commute, rather than just adding time like planned exercise. As a bonus you save money and feel happier.
I've never been a fan of exercise either and with this and a couple of games of futsal (mad keen football player) I manage around 12 hours exercise a week while enjoying all of it.

Do whatever you can sustain and make a habit, so you don't have to motivate yourself to do it.
I walk. A lot. I skip train stations on my commute in and out for fun.
I'm captain of the annual GCC (pedometer) company team, it's good to do things in groups.

Re: Fitness Ideas
Motivating and sustaining is the issue here. I kind of feel I need either, a) an addictive team sport. b) exercise I buy and which enforces a regular turn out.

I think the number of lapsed gym memberships probably points to a)!

Yep. Only use for a gym is for pumping iron and I don't pump iron. I also have a gym at the Sydney Football Stadium where I occasionally swim in the pool and play a spot of tennis.

Re: Fitness Ideas
I bought myself a Hobie Kayak. It's a pedal kayak that gives me a leg workout & when they get a bit tired I sit & fish for a while. The fish is good for you so it's a win win. Workout + fresh fish for dinner. I paddle it as well for an upper body workout. I don't lose much weight but I drink a lot more beer while I'm fishing lol.

Yep! Loads of Hobie fishing comps, unfortunately there's not much exercise in the fishing part, just drinking beer for me lol.
