Might be able to have a go at fishing up there myself in October. My Cousin and Partner are retiring up there, next month. I may take a visit and tow my tinny up there. That should be a really good litmus test for Melb v SEQ, seeing as he has been here, in Melb since 68.
I hear they have some nice sharks floating around those Canals on the GC

Bloody nice looking fish there, I really need to catch something like that. I'm coming home empty handed, I think my OH is starting to suspect I'm only going fishing to drink beers.... I don't know how she can think that, I don't even drink beer. I drink Jack Daniels...

Ozzieeagle - I was brought up eating fish & other seafood every single week (sometimes twice or three times a week) - but never ate any sort of seafood from a fish & chip shops until I was in my late teens . I got a stack of other fishing pics mainly of my dad, some scanned, some not.
ZX, come on, everyone knows that the best fishermen drink rum - with milk or neat .

Oh, OK - it was a crappy old Toadfish
As for the original questions:
MrsD and me count as two (the little DagBoys don't really count as they get bored too quickly)
Whats the biggest fish you have caught?
Probably the one in the picture or possibly a shovel nosed shark.
How many beers to you have while fishing?
A couple if we are out for the day, more if we are staying out overnight - cannot have too many because of driving (the boat and the car afterwards)
Does your wife give you the silent treatment when you are organising a fishing trip with your mates?
No, my fishing trips are with my best mate, who happens to be my wife
Does your wife question how much money you spend on fishing equipment?
No. And I do not question how much she spends on fishing equipment either.
Cheers,
DagBoy

He bought his rod when we moved out here - it was his dream to go off fishing in his spare time. The reality so far though has been - we have been toooooooo busy with renovating the house and garden so spare time is minimal.
He hasn't spent much however on his hobby and I wouldn't mind too much as long as we could afford it - I buy books so why shouldn't he buy somethings???
I recall when he did some of his first time fishing at Durass - the bait was in a bag next to me - small sardines - and this great big bird flapped down next to me and stole the bloody fish -lol I pmsl
