Yes, it's on my list - I have a nice pic of my own boys being gladiators in the amphitheatre there when they were small. I am planning on taking them to the West Country where my d-i-l's family built a stately home in Dinton and also down in Somerset (her family tree is amazing but at the moment she has no interest in it so I am going to encourage that!). And I cant miss Bath and we may do the Wookie Hole Caves as well.

So much to do, so little time!

Sounds like a fine selection. I can also recommend Cardiff Castle around that area. Not the biggest castle in the UK (although that is just up the road); it does have a great tour.

If passing, a trip on the Newport Transporter Bridge can be a hit with kids (big and small).

Thanks for the tips guys.

Would have loved to do the whole, I'm here (pick a nice central location) and have everyone visit but with only one week and it being school term time too, it just wouldn't work this time.

I think I need to plan more than just people go sees, so I'm now trying to include more places go sees. It'll mean more to the boys long term too, plus it means I can justify going to the Natural History Museum
