Re: FIRES! Is everyone ok?
Just been for a drive around and it is in the bush at the end of our road. There are firies everywhere so I guess they will be on top of it before it gets chance to get going.

We are on fire alert this weekend, the council were meant to be cutting the dry grass from our verges by the main road because of the fire alert, but they havent done it as yet.

Fires are out I've just been down the long road that runs alongside the bush area. There are three separate burnt areas a good distance apart. Looks as if someone must have gone along this long road deliberately setting fire at intervals. There are a good few square kilometres of bush there before finishing off near to our front door. We don't have a problem at all if they are small fires like last night, but I wouldn't want to be at home if the wind was howling like it was last night and this morning and the fire was out of control. It would have built up a fair bit of speed and heat by the time it reached us.

Its not our grass, its the grass verge behind a very high colourbond fence next to the pavement. Our strimmer wouldnt even reach it, you have to go outside of the house and round the corner. The council said they would cut it, but Im still waiting

I simply cannot believe the way the media is reporting the arrest and charging of the arsonist. The mindset has already turned around – everybody’s feeling sorry for the ‘desperately lonely’ man (who was in possession of child pornography, but no doubt that will be excused by some ‘psychological condition’ as well). Channel Nine just did a big thing about how the ‘poor man’ is the focus of hatred.
But then I guess everybody found themselves able to excuse – and even feel sorry for – the man who threw his daughter off a bridge, so I suppose this won’t be any different.
I am a psychology graduate, but psychology simply CANNOT be a reason to excuse every crime.
