Finally relocating!
 

Well, after months of working out where to live and tossing up between Canberra and Hervey Bay, HB has won. We just drove down (from Mackay) for a few days and this little seaside hamlet is our cup of tea. Job wise I have a job waiting there for me and Bert will have to find something - we know that will be the difficult part.

First things first though - we have to now relocate. Can anyone recommend an intrastate removalist company? We've had a quote from Grace but it is very expensive - there must be other reliable movers out there that don't charge as much. :rolleyes:

Good choice. "The Bay" has alot more temporate climate than Canberra will ever have. I used to spend alot of time there before moving to Brisbane years ago. Good diving, fishing etc. From what I have seen and heard of Canberra, it would be the pits to live long there.

Have you looked in the local Mackay newspaper classifieds as most removalists advertise and that would be the easiest to find. Another option would be to use www.yellowpages.com.au (online) or your Yellow Pages Book and look for removalists there or see if any of the Maryborough removalist firms are able to do a "backfill" trip, which may work out alot cheaper for you-that is to say they deliver someone else's stuff to Mackay and take your stuff back to Maryborough/Hervery Bay, as they have to drive back empty anyway.
