Nonsense, I can think of some far worse accents - I lived in Torquay for 8.5 years - they had some peaches down there Then there's all the surrounding areas roundabout the south.

Think straw sucking, scrumpy guzzling dungaree wearing farmer types

When I was working in Bristol we had a massive works Christmas party... loads of cash from the company.. so much so that we had the Wurzels as the band for the evening. The company had two sites... one in Bristol and the other in Leeds. About 50 people had come down from Leeds for the evening and I was sat on one of the 'Northern' tables... when the Wurzels come on and let rip into their opening number "Champion muck spreader" the looks on the faces around me were brilliant. All the locals were up dancing and singing along and I and pretty everybody else around me just sat there gobsmacked.

It was an absolutely brilliant night.. without doubt the best Christmas party I have ever been too...

Love em have one of their albums.......

I gotta brand new combine harvester
When the common market comes to Stanton Drew (I used to live there)
Drink up thee zider

to name a few songs.

Oh and about the 'Ls' on the end, we also do not pronounce our 'H' at the beginning of a word either.

I actually dont like the accent and go to great lenghts to say that I have a somerset accent (which I do) rather than Bristolian plus I tend to say I live near Bath rather than Bristol cause it sounds posher.....

Small world. My mum is going to visit a specialist shoe shop in Station Road soon.
I remember going to a dog ruff pub there when I was younger (Station Master I think?). I also used to walk my dog down the railway line (disused) to an old railway station on my own and it was pretty creepy - wouldn't do it now! I think it's part of the ring road now anyway. Sorry, back to topic.

PS The Worzels rock!!!
