What about TV like home and away or neighbors, is this not a true reflexion of Aussie life

Only kidding, Billy Connelly is great and Don Jolly spent some time in oz on his show

Rabbit Proof Fence

Kids TV series called "H2O - Just Add Water" filmed here on the Gold Coast, it's about school girls who transform into mermaids when they get wet (such an orginal story line! )

Three Aussie movies that I would recommend are 'Muriel's Wedding', 'The Year My Voice Broke' and 'Emerald City'.

Someone else recommended 'Lantana' which I enjoyed too.

Mortified - great kids tv series set in Queensland

A good series if you have school age children who need a taster of life downunder

Can anyone recommend any films with good scenes of Oz in there we could watch? Featuring Australian scenery, towns, cities etc?
Picnic at Hanging Rock - older classic shot near Melbourne. Hanging Rock is a real place and very very spooky, just like the film.
Wolf Creek - bit gory, but has beautiful Outback Scenery
The Dish - great film shot near Parkes, NSW
The Castle - very funny
Young Einstein - weird comedy featuring an actor called Yahoo Serious
Mad Max - cult classic aussie road film
Bad Boy Bubby - Weird indie film shot in Adelaide, SA
Crocodile Dundee - say no more, everyone knows this one!
Lantana - one of the best Aussie films ever made IMO!!!
Two Hands - very cool indie movie set in Sydney
Storm Boy - beautiful film to watch with the family!!! about a pelican called Mr Percival, shot in South Australia and features beautiful shots of the Coorong area.

Sure i'll think of loads more once i hit the submit button...but that'll do for now.

Mr YG.

Yeah I downloaded loads of them when back in the UK and really enjoyed em. I'm not the biggest fan of ole Billy, but it showed loads of Australia and like the OP that was all I was after at the time.
