Fancy Dress Ideas Please
No theme just fancy dress - most of the partipants are 20 - 25 eek: and my kids have advised me I dont need to embarrass them by turning up in something nobody ' gets ' 
I take it going as Lady Ga Ga wont do then

I understand the kids comment - they/won't get it, at a recent party the younger ones did not get Holly Golightly, but refusing to get Hugh Hefner in a smoking jacket and slipper - especially when his wife was a bunny girl surprised even me.
Molls and Gangsters is usually an easy one
Cartoons Fred and Thelma Flintstone etc
The Simpsons - they must get this
Vampires an easy theme - Twilight has a lot to answer for
Lots of things from Alice in Wonderland, including going as a card, eg Ace of spades or something if your partner goes as the mad hatter - I like that one in my case as I hide the size. Can use a sheet or pieces of card
With so many doctor shows - just get green scrubs or a white coat and put a picture of your favourite cast member on your back
Totally pink and blonde wig - dog in bag and you can be any dumb blonde they can think of

get yourself some fake dreadlocks, a bikini and some spray cans of blue paint and you can go as one of the folks from avatar. You could probably even lose the bikini and get away with it.
