Eye Stye
I had a stye on the bottom eyelid of my right eye, so I left it but did the whole hot compress every day and eventually the head on it burst (sorry if your eating while reading this!) and it has left a inflamed red bump just on the outside of my bottom eyelid.
So I went to the doctors and was prescribed some antibiotic treatment to use, however 2 days on and it looks the same and I have an awful feeing it's not going to budge that easily. I have read that it could take months to go on it's own, does anybody have any other remedies I could try if the antibiotics don't work, I've tried the hot compress and the rubbing of the gold ring.... I just want it gone  |
Re: Eye Stye
some concealer and the art of misdirection to lure people's gaze away from the offending eye :D
sorry, thats all i've got. |
Re: Eye Stye
My granny was a bit of a backyard medicine woman and I remember (probably because it is so weird) that the treatment for a sty was urine! I kid you not.

i imagine it worked because you would just make absolutely sure you avoided getting styes, so that someone didnt piss in your face |

Re: Eye Stye
I think I remember my mum rubbing her wedding ring on styes when I was a nipper. Try gold? Eggs chopped up in a cup? - that seems to be a cure all remedy.
Sorry - just noticed you already tried gold - what about witch hazel? |

You could just wait for nature to take it's course and in the meantime disguise it.
No-one will suspect you have a stye. |
Re: Eye Stye
Sorry I haven't got any suggestions but thanks to the answers for giving me a laugh this afternoon! We've just had a burst pipe in the front garden which if we hadn't been home could have ended up being a seriously wet house, bit of a panic just now so thanks for the chuckle.
Hope the eye heals up, sounds awful! |
Re: Eye Stye
