The last 2 employers I worked for had major filters on the internet preventing access to all sorts including porn (not that I tried, but you couldn't get onto The Sun's website
), gambling, so no Lotto website and things like Youtube, Itunes etc. I quite often couldn't get onto BE because of some of the naughty words 
Why does this not appear to be the case for these Govt workers?
Is it not common practice?

I have worked at similar filtered sites, and in fact the whole internet in Indonesia is filtered.
One company I used to work for wanted to reduce headcount late last year. They recalled everyones company laptops for an upgrade, and found porn stored on a huge number of them. They sacked several of my friends....
